We had a meeting last week here at work. The boss wanted to let his four person management team know that the projections for the fourth quarter were dismal. He laid out three options:
get more business
lay off staff
close the place down
Getting more business in an ad agency is a tough job. It takes months of [...]
I just finished cutting the grass. As usual, I pray the rosary as I mow. I am not very good at sitting in one place and focusing so whenever I have time, like mowing, driving or some such thing, I pray.
Today I was flooded with thoughts about faith. As I was walking and mowing I [...]
I really feel compelled to post regularly. There is so much going on that it helps me keep it straight…or it at least helps me keep straight about how I feel about things.
I spoke to my physician today. As Just Me commented, she thinks that setting a date for surgery is as much an administrative [...]
I received a call from the doctor’s office at Johns Hopkins this morning to review some details. As the person was going through the dates and times she added that my surgery was scheduled for December 3 at 11:15.
Surgery? What surgery?
Even though I don’t see this doctor until November 7, he has already scheduled surgery [...]
Finally I have something to hold on to. I was really antsy today about things standing still with my medical prognosis so I picked up the phone and called Johns Hopkins to see if anyone could tell me when to expect some feedback. I apologize if the things that I write seem [...]
Car shopping day today. Left this morning at 10:30 and started making the rounds of used car dealers. Our intention was to get some idea of what was available then start to focus on exactly what to get to replace the deceased Caravan. The one thing I wanted to avoid was making a panic decision, [...]
It never fails. In my family, as soon as a crisis of some sort is manifested you can count on a car problem to make things really annoying…and expensive.
My wife called me yesterday afternoon to tell me that she had just had her car towed to the mechanic after it gave out in the middle [...]
The verdict is in from the radiologist and pulmonologist at Fox Chase. Unofficially, the radiologist is puzzled but thinks that there is only a small chance that the mass on my lung is cancer. However, whatever it is needs to be biopsied to be certain.
The pulmonologist was equally unsure of exactly what he is looking [...]
The longer this lung mass mystery goes on the more it looks like this will turn out to be no problem. A second radiologist looked at the CT scans today and he, too, could not give a definitive answer as to what this thing is but, while cancer is still a possibility, it is receding [...]
